All applicants interested in doing a PhD through the Bridge program must hold a Masters degree, a German Diploma or an equivalent degree in biology, biochemistry, bioinformatics, chemistry, medicine, veterinary medicine or other related subjects.
It is not required for the student to hold his/her degree at the time of application; however, the degree will have to have been awarded before enrolling into the program.
Candidates will be selected based on academic qualifications, motivation, suitability to the program and referee's evaluations. An important feature of the program includes a "Research stay" where students doing their PhD in Berlin will spend up to 6 months in the partner lab in Hyderabad, India while students from Hyderabad will come and spend time in a partner lab in Berlin.
